Electrophysiological interventions for inherited arrhythmia syndromes.

چکیده
IInherited arrhythmia syndromes are electrical myopathies with genetic origins and risk of sudden death. They may present from infancy through adulthood, although the specific diseases have stereotypic but variable phenotypic onset and severity. There is clinical and genetic overlap among the syndromes, with variable penetrance and expressivity. Although underlying mechanisms of arrhythmogenesis may differ between syndromes, the electrophysiological (EP), pharmacological, and interventional options overlap. Specifics of the genetics, pharmacological therapies, and lifestyle modifications have been reviewed recently and are beyond the scope of this article, which focuses on interventional electrophysiology for inherited arrhythmias.

Effect of gallic acid on electrophysiological properties and ventricular arrhythmia following chemical-induced arrhythmia in rat
Objective(s): Ventricular arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) are the most important causes of mortality rate. Gallic acid (GA) has beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of GA on electrophysiological parameters such as QRS complex, heart rate (HR), PR interval pa...
متن کاملEffect of Artemisia absinthium on electrophysiological properties of isolated heart of rats
Introduction: Treatment of supraventricular arrhythmia includes wide range of medical interventions. Herbal remedies are suitable alternatives for synthetic drugs due to their availability, minimal side effects and lower price. Pharmacological studies and traditional medical literature point to the cardiovascular effects of the Artemisia absinthium L. from Compositae family of plants. Meth...
متن کاملUnveiling specific triggers and precipitating factors for fatal cardiac events in inherited arrhythmia syndromes.
Patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes, such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, early repolarization syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, and their latent forms, are at risk for fatal arrhythmias. These diseases are typically associated with genetic mutations that perturb cardiac ionic currents. The analysis of cardiac events by genotype-phenotype correlati...
متن کاملLeft cardiac sympathetic denervation in the Netherlands for the treatment of inherited arrhythmia syndromes
INTRODUCTION Treating therapy-resistant patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes can be difficult and left cardiac sympathetic denervation (LCSD) might be a viable alternative treatment option. We provide an overview of the indications and outcomes of LCSD in patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes in the only tertiary referral centre in the Netherlands where LCSD is conducted in these...
متن کاملImplantable Loop Recorder Monitoring for Refining Management of Children With Inherited Arrhythmia Syndromes
BACKGROUND Implantable loop recorders (ILRs) are conventionally utilized to elucidate the mechanism of atypical syncope. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of these devices on management of pediatric patients with known or suspected inherited arrhythmia syndromes. METHODS AND RESULTS A retrospective chart review was undertaken of all pediatric patients with known or suspecte...
